The association

Promoting classical music from Geneva

Founded in 2007 by Doryan Emmanuel Rappaz, GenevArte is a Geneva-based association whose mission is to promote contemporary classical music and support young talent across French-speaking Switzerland.

Recognised as a public-benefit non-profit by the Canton of Geneva in 2011, the association runs two flagship events: the Festival Classique de la Madeleine, held each autumn in the Salle Centrale de la Madeleine, and the Soirée des Jeunes Créateurs, a showcase for emerging composers and performers.

Doryan has been its president and artistic director since the very beginning — at once programme curator, advocate for a living repertoire, and catalyst of a renewed Geneva classical scene.
